T.O. gets brief playoff 'boost'

Happened to see the Boost Mobile spot featuring Terrell Owens during last weekend's NFL playoffs, but didn't realize it was only being shown once.

Strike anyone else odd that Owens would agree to a one-time-only campaign? Couldn't Drew Rosenhaus negotiate a playoff-plastering media blitz? Wouldn't a cell phone company pushing a service to the targeted, nanosecond-attention-span demographic of post-pubescent multitaskers* see the value of heavy repetition? Was T.O.'s asking price too high? Did he threaten to be disruptive during the commercial's production? Did he tell the director not to speak to him unless spoken to?

Next question!

Anyway, here's the original spot in case you missed it. And here are some outtakes that purport to take you behind the scenes.

Make anyone breathless to get that particular brand of phone? It only made 14 people respond to the call-to-action question of "Where You At?" (though the pic of poster Will Leitch is, ummm, interesting.)

<< UPDATE: After promoting that the ad would only be aired once, Boost Mobile reneged on that "promise" and showed the spot twice again during the conference championships the following week. Looks like Owens found a kindred spirit in this company, after all! >>

* From the company's press release: "Based in Irvine, California, Boost Mobile, LLC, a subsidiary of Sprint Nextel Corporation, (NYSE:S - News), is a lifestyle-based telecommunications brand focused on offering premium Pay-As-You-Go wireless phones and services to the youth market."
