Final Score: Cowboys 21, Eagles 20

That sound you hear is the Eagles' season being flushed down the toilet.

At what point in his career did Donovan become unable to finish a game?

McNabb is not a clutch player, bottom line. When he isn't running with the ball, he is average AT BEST. He is a media darling because he always says the right things and is the antithesis of Terrell Owens, but he is simply not a very good QB. I wish someone in the media would actually criticize McNabb for once, because he certainly deserves it, injury or no injury. Stop making excuses for this guy!! The Eagles are NEVER going to win the Super Bowl with McNabb at the helm.

McMahon is going to light up the Giants next week.

Eli is the worst QB in the NFC east...Cowboy Koy is even better...maybe even Andy Hall lol

Come on guys, this once again clearly isn't McNabb's fault. The poor guy is injured. He shouldn't be expected to play well. It was obvious that his sports hernia caused him to make that pass to Roy Williams for the touchdown. Sports hernias are very difficult injuries, and are medically proven to cause QBs to mistake defensive players on the other team for their own wide receivers. This is a common ailment. Really, don't be too hard on McNabb. Right, Rich Hofmann?

i guess none of the blame falls on the defense for letting dallas waltz down the field (especially all-pro corner lito sheppard, who gave terry glenn as much room as he wanted to catch that TD), or reggie brown for dropping a game-sealing pass to put the ball WELL within akers's field goal range.

Lets see what all the philly journalists and radio talk show people have to say about Mcnabbs latest debacle! Nice guys dont win games. They will try to put some spin on it bcos the eagles management gives them free food to stuff and i am sure dope them so that they only report what the management wants them to report.
Guess what, TO was after all rite about Mcnabb killing the eagles with 4TH qtr interception. He had 4th lowest QB 4th rating in the NFL. OF the 5 loses, 4 can be blamed on Mcnabb!

At 12:50 AM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Reggie brown the next coming of TO! what happened to that cant hold a pass in 4th qtr.
I should not be so hard on the rookie!. The blame falls on 100 million dollar guy. Cant read plays. People complaining about TO's salary dispute. They should ask Mcnabb to refund the money so Lurie and Banner buy more property and produce lousy films

You guys are ridiculous. McNabb is a five-time pro bowler who led this team to a Super Bowl. Yeah, he's having a lousy year, and the injury might not be totally to blame for that, but geez, he's still one of the top 3 or 4 QB's in football when he's healthy and on his game. Even Montana and Marino had down seasons. All of you people who take him for granted deserve a lifetime of Akili Smiths and Joey Harringtons.

As for the racial epithets - real classy, you piece of crap.

After almost 30 years of futility and sniffing the Superbowl twice in my lifetime, I am off to find far better things to do with my Sundays and Monday nights. This franchise will FOREVER be a woulda, coulda, shoulda franchise. It will be another 5 years before Reid and McNabb are finally booed off the stage, and another 5 before the franchise finds a coach who can mold a winner that might even have a chance. Superbowl? Not in my lifetime. I'm off to live life instead of spectating these debacles by overhyped media darlings like Mcnabb. Time to go feed the hungry or cloth the poor.

I can't understand why Andy didn't call 4 straight running plays to end the game while we still had the lead. The Birds hadn't run the ball that well in 2 years and he descided to allow Donovan to throw the ball. It's utterly rediculous!!!! This just proves that it wasn't T.O. who lost the season, it was COMPLETELY Andy's fault. From being too stubborn to run the ball early, to putrid play calling in big situations, to being so stubborn with McNabb that he didn't tell him to get surgery in week two, only to have his franchise throw over, behind, and below guys as well as to the other team with the game on the line, because he was hurt from day one. I'm baffled, depressed and already hungover from this game. My God the Eagles SUCKED this year. Chalk another one up for the city of losers.

Rush Limbaugh told us 3 years ago about McNabb and he got fired over it from ESPN. Maybe should have listened to him and found a better QB.

The Eagles have started their return to being just an average team in the ever changing nfl. mcnabb is finshed.

Admit it Philly fan...you peaked too early. Your team is only getting worse from here on. I would say you are in rebuilding mode. If you keep this up, you could be in the Leinart running. You need a QB who can read defenses. A mindless, running QB will never win the superbowl. McNabb needs to sit down with Trent Dilfer(who has a superbowl ring) and learn to just manage the game and not do stupid things like piss off your star Receiver.

-A Browns fan.

Blah, what a dump of a game. The fault is 70% play calling, 30% execution. This was the last hope for the season - there's no way into the post season now, not with this schedule.

With the 1st pick of the NFL draft, Houston trades the pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for Donovan McNabb. Philadelphia selects Matt Leinart, QB, USC.

I want to hear Banner and Lurie speak as they have manipulated the media into beleiving that their season was being wrecked by TO.
Are you 2 jokers going to refund Philly fans for putting up a sorry ass team! Admit it fellas Mcanbb is average QB and eagles were lucky to get NFC championship games in 2001-2003 beacause of the mediocrity of NFC. The only year they dominated was last yr with TO. For all the people talking about Donovan took them to playoffs prior to TO, Look at his stats prior to TO and he had best yr as QB with TO.

I think he is going to be a glorified Garcia and is going to get a free ride !! until people get tired of his killer Int.
Guys blame all of this on Banner!! He was trying to save money by no resigning Simon, Burgess and waited till he expelled TO to sign Westbrook to save face. He could have paid TO when he was under the cap or traded him when he market value and gotten Plaxico!

Right on! I second that.

Owens needs to be playing football with the Eagles - clearly, they miss his talent on the field and McNabb and Reid's play-calling just shows exactly what is wrong with this team - and it is NOT T.O. - but the arrogant and stubborn Eagles management that clearly does not want to return to the play-offs - much less the Super Bowl.

Now way the Eagles recover if Owens is not admitted back to the team. They need to all make-up, and play football.

Reid! Give up the play calling to someone who has got a clue and for God's sake bring in another punter! There has to be someone better than what you got now.

McNabb! You sir have choked again!

I live in Dallas, was born here. That was the sweetest thing I have ever seen.Your season is OVER,and we nailed the coffin shut. And just to throw a little salt on the open wound, put little McNabb out for at least a week or two.The worm has turned in the east.We are back on top as it should be.See you next year.Punks

I'm a Cowboys fan... and it's been hard over many, many years. The Eagles have had our number for a long time. Donovan McNabb has been a thorn in our side during this period.

I hate losing to the Eagles. However, trying to be objective, I've come to respect and appreciate the talent and leadership McNabb has displayed over the past several years. Eagles fans have been blessed to have such a strong quarterback. Trust me, it's tough when you have a revolving door at the QB position.... and, say what you want, but there aren't many QBs out there that can play the way McNabb has played over the past several years.

Don't get me wrong, I was really excited when the Cowboys were given a "gift" last night. However, you guys don't know how good you've had it during the McNabb era. He's a truly gifted QB who is having a pretty tough season. He'll be back... and I can only hope the Eagles fans run him out of town so we don't have to face him in the future.

Last night's win may have been a fluke mr. birdsoul, but a few weeks ago, we demolished your tweety birds down in Dallas. We sure do love Roy Williams down here. Have a nice day!

I love how all of you EAGLES fans defend McNabb or should I say McChoker. He has an excuse everytime the EAGLES lose, "I was Hurt or I puked in the huddle" He choked in the super bowl last year and he is proving time and time again that he is not a top tier quaterback. Granted the Cowboys don't have a great quaterback. The Eagles should look into trading T.O. for a quaterback who has the ability to lead a team in crunch time.
Finally, all of the EAGLES fans should make plans now for for that cruise in late DEC cause you as well as the rest of the EAGLES team members will be watching the playoffs from your couch.

The Eagles have come full circle this season. After being 4 points away from a Super Bowl championship, they're back to being the REAL Eagles we've suffered with all our lives. Once again, they are the team you can count on to find creative ways to lose--when they're not simply being demolished (ie., Denver, 1st Dallas game, etc.). After finally putting the kids to bed, I settled down to watch the final 8 minutes of the game. Up 20 to 7, I still had an unsettled feeling. Memories of botched, last-second, potentially game-winning field goal attempts--against the Cowboys, of course--kept rattling around in my brain. By the time McNabb threw his game-losing, season-killing interception I felt--not shocked or surprised--simply numb. This is who we are. And, I've come to the conclusion that McNabb is NOT the guy. Or, rather, for the Eagles, he is the PERFECT guy: the guy who can be counted on to crumble in the clutch--whether it's an NFC championship game, a Super Bowl, or a turning-point regular season game. It's too bad; I LIKE McNabb; he's talented and until T.O. came along, did a lot with very little support. But, alas, he's a choker. Bob Dylan said that "once he gave up hope, he felt a lot better." I'm giving up hope. Go Eagles.

Hey bEagle fan...Just remember, there can only be one Troy Aikman. Oh and by the way, T.O. would've made those catches.

FB says--why is it, after a bad bad play by McNabb, and he gets knocked on his butt, he gets up limping-etc--looking for sympathy from the crowd while other quarterbacks hop right up and get back to business.

At 6:49 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

why-why-why didn't reid put in McMahon and give him 2 series (probably only needed 1) to take the eagles downfield for a 3 point conversion instead of putting in a hurt Donovan (3 and out) and now putting the stress (on one last shot)on McMahon. Reid has got to stop worrying about McNabb's feelings and start making some intelligent decisions. God forbid, he calls in some workable plays.

At 7:15 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

FB again--If the fans don't soon admit and realise that Reid has no idea how to draw up plays and manage the clock, then they shouldn't ever watch the eagles play another game. Dumb-dumb-dumb. Even when McNabb wasn't hurt, he stopped running for fear he might get hurt
even tho he was a lethal weapon and could win some games if he did.
Other qb's run like hell to win games.

Last game he overthrew receivers and didn't see Westbrook way downfield wide open and waving his arms. it's called tunnelvision.

Too bad there are no more Manning Brothers around.

At least with a new qb in we might see some excitement cause he really doesn't have anything to lose. open it up and let it fly-baby.
