Rookie Brown getting some looks

Rookie wide receiver Reggie Brown is fighting to make the team and he is gaining a lot of attention during training camp. Today, both head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Donovan McNabb mentioned Brown and his progress in their news conferences.

When McNabb was asked whether his mastery of the offense has taken pressure off of the young wide receiver to learn the offense:
“I think it takes a little bit of pressure off a guy like Reggie Brown. When (Todd Pinkston) Pink came in, I was just learning the offense and I had been a couple of years in. So, they were throwing in different wrinkles and trying different things. You are trying to visualize it and make sure the guy is in the right position at the right time. Now I am able to, before we get out of the huddle, just make sure Reggie knows what route he is running and rest of the guys as well. I can make sure we are on the same page and give him an idea that if we get certain coverage, he might get the ball if he’s not the first or second read. I think it does take a lot of pressure off a guy like Reggie and the rest of the guys as well.”

Reid said this of Brown: “He is getting better every day. He hit a little bit of a wall there and now he is working through that and made a nice catch today. He did some nice things today. He is getting better.”
