Expect things to heat up later today

The Eagles have been in team meetings all morning and won't hit the practice field until 3:30 p.m. today, so access to players has been nil. One of those meetings today was supposed to be between Joe Banner, Andy Reid, Terrell Owens and Drew Rosenhaus. Look for things to get interesting following the afternoon practice.

Not to worry, though; Rosenhaus still managed to find a microphone and a camera before hitting the Eagles' Lehigh University training facility. The agent for T.O. appeared on ESPN2's "Cold Pizza" and said that Owens would remain in camp no matter what happened with contract negotiations.

The team that beat the Eagles in Super Bowl XXXIX did make some news today when All-Pro defensive end Richard Seymour agreed to terms on a new contract after a brief holdout. Terms of the new deal were not disclosed.

Seymour, a three-time Pro Bowler, was entering the fifth year of a six-year, $14.3 million contract he signed as a rookie in 2001. He has been on the Patriots' three Super Bowl championship teams. He had a sack of Donovan McNabb in February's 24-21 victory over the Eagles, despite missing the previous three games -- including the AFC playoffs games -- with an injury.
